After completing this course the student should be able to demonstrate an understanding of:

-wave interference and the formation of standing waves

-the production and properties of sound

-the reflection, refraction, diffraction, and interference of light

-the nature of the force that exists between electrically charged bodies

-the nature and relationship of voltage, current, resistance, and reactance in direct and alternating current circuits

-the relationship between electromotive force and a magnetic field

-the nature and uses of electronic devices

-the balancing and application of nuclear equations

-the nature of subatomic particles and the operation of particle accelerators

-the use of wave machines, lenses, the spectroscope, the laser, the electroscope, voltmeters, ammeters, and radiation measuring devices
